The Polish Society for the Study of Religions was established in 1958. The organization brings together Polish academics interested in studying religions from various disciplines. The mission of the organization is to create and develop knowledge about Religious Studies. Since 1957 the Polish Society for the Study of Religions has published a scientific journal entitled “Przegląd Religioznawczy – The Religious Studies Review”. Since 1970 it has been a member of the International Association for the History of Religions and since 2001 it is a member of the European Association for the Study of Religions. The Polish association hosted IAHR conferences in 1979, 1989 and 2000.
