The 8th annual conference of the European Association for the Study of Religions was held at the Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic from 7 to 11 September 2008 on the theme of "Time of Decline, Time of Hope: Scientific, Cultural and Political Engagement of the Study of Religions".
